Sabre Program

The Sabre Program is a project I’ve been working on with my dad, Scott (David if you’re in the know).

Now, that might not sound real impressive until you learn that he himself was once a juggernaut of the surfing industry; as a competitor, shaper, retailer and innovator.

And me? Well, as a kid, I spent a lot of time at the factory while he shaped. Looking through sales catalogues of wetsuit brands he repped and flicking through magazine articles covering his team riders. So, the old guy’s legit.

Anyway, we both think surfing has gotten a little ~weird.

Companies seem to be focusing on converting non-surfers rather than developing boards that can challenge and transition average surfers to advanced surfers.

Ease of use, stability and propaganda on volume seems to be crowding out the core ideologies of speed, power, flow, and control.

So that’s why after waiting for some business stuff to clear, we can finally launch this little Sabre Program we’ve been working on.

We’re building high performance shortboards for surfers who want to do more with their waves.

It’s not much yet, but it’s a start.

Forgive the simplicity and shortness of this post, I’m trying to keep this introduction short and jargon-free.

I’ll write a post up about why you’re high-volume-full-nose-board(boat) is unbalanced, consequently pushing too much water in your paddle, and bogging your turns some other time.
